Chidinma Adetshina Arrives Nigeria For Miss Universe
Former contestant for Miss South Africa Miss Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina has arrived Nigeria to participate in the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria.
Adetshina arrived Lagos, Nigeria on Wednesday and went straight to Silverbird Group headquarters, the organisers of the event, at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Recall that Adetshina pulled out of the Miss South Africa race due to controversy surrounding her national identity.
She agreed to contest in the Miss Universe Nigeria when the organisers contacted her a few weeks ago.
Adetshina who is currently contesting as Miss Taraba in the prestigious beauty pageant told Rhythm FM where she was interviewed that she is ready to contest for the prestigious crown alongside 24 other delegates.
She is a delegates from Taraba state as shown by the galland on her neck during the visit to Silverbird.
Receiving Adetshina, the National Director of Miss Universe Nigeria and President of the Silverbird Group, Mr. Guy Murray-Bruce expressed great confidence that the event would be a great one.
He said that Adetshina’s interest to contest in the 2024 edition of Miss Universe Nigeria came after she accepted an invitation which was extended to her by organisers of the pageant a few weeks ago.
Prior to the invitation, Ms Adetshina who was born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and a Mozambique mother contested for recently concluded Miss South Africa 2024 but withdrew from the competition amidst controversies surrounding her South African citizenship claims and Nigerian heritage.
After her withdrawal went viral, which also prompted her to quit from the competition, the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant made a historic decision by officially inviting Ms Adetshina to participate in the upcoming Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 competition.
Interestingly, she accepted and honoured the invitation which was extended to her through a Press Release which was sent to her by the organisers of Miss Universe Nigeria to participate in the 2024 edition of the prestigious pageant.
The invitation was revealed in a Press Statement from the National Director of Miss Universe, Guy Murray-Bruce.
Miss Adetshina who is also a model, has returned to her father land to contest as Miss Taraba in the prestigious beauty pageant.
