Barcelona on Sunday defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in a pre-season friendly, which had Nigerian music stars, Divine Ikubor well known as Rema, David Adeleke well known as Davido, Olamide and others who were present at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.
After Pau Víctor and Nico Paz’s scintillating performance and another strong showing by Barça’s youngsters, Barça remains undefeated against Madrid in American soil.
Victor opened the scoring for Barcelona just before halftime and doubled their lead in the 54th minute.
The presence of Nigerian Afrobeat music stars at the stadium thrilled fans, especially after the performance of Rema and Olamide.
Another exiting moment captured was when the Nigerian when Rema, taught Barcelona players, Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, Brazilian forward Raphinha, and Spanish left-back Alejandro Balde the choreography for “Azaman”, a type of dance to his latest song in the recently released the album “He Is”.
Interestingly, Rema who affirmed support for the Barcelona-based club, made a prediction before the match started, which turns out to be correct.
