Below is a list of notable Nigerian celebrities who have broken the world record.

Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, also known as Kaffy is a Nigerian dancer, choreographer, dance instructor and fitness coach.

In 2006, the talented dancer took a bold step alongside her team and set the record for the longest dance, as she danced for 52 hours and 3 minutes without stopping.

Odumewu Deborah Sunmisola, well known as Pinki Debbie broke the world record in 2018 for the longest dance by an individual. Pinki, 24, danced non-stop for 137 hours to get her name in the world record.

Sandra Ikeji, an event planner, broke world record at her wedding on the 11th of January, 2020. The sister to popular billionaire blogger, who tied the knot with her beau Arinze at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos had 200 bridesmaids on her bridal train. This broke the record of the most bridesmaid to one bride.

Chidera Anemege, a talented Nigerian music star and rapper based in the United States of America set an amazing record in free styling by getting his name in the Guinness World Record. This talented Nigerian hip hop rapper used his career to set the record in the longest rap freestyle by an individual category which took place at MTV O Music Awards which held in Las Vegas, USA. He set this record over a period of 9 hours in 2011.

Tunde Onakoya is a Nigerian chess player and coach, who holds the Guinness World Records for the longest marathon chess game.

The founder of Chess in Slums Africa who has shared his experience after making history spoke about one of the most remarkable experiences, sixty-hours of mental torture while attempting to break the record.

He has organised a number of interventions for children across slums in Lagos state including Majidun, Makoko and recently, Oshodi.

Obi Anjuonuma is a popular Nigerian DJ known popularly as DJ Obi. He broke the world record for the longest ever DJ set. He achieved this feat over a period of 240 hours at a café in Lagos, Nigeria in 2016.

Hilda Baci broke the record for the longest cooking marathon by any individual hitting 87 hours 50 minutes above the previous record holder in 2019.

On 11 May 2023, she started her ” Cook-a-thon ” record attempt. She achieved this feat on on Monday, May 15, 2023, at exactly 7:45 am.

The Silverbird World of Records proudly presents, the Marathon Dancing Record Attempt. The first event in a series of world record attempts.

The event will take place on the 2nd of August, 2024 at the Silverbird Galleria in Victoria Island, Lagos.

To be the next dance star, you must be 16 years old and above.
