England 2-1 Slovakia: Three Lions Euro 2024 Comeback Excites Fans

Fans of England expressed excitement on Sunday after the Three Lions secured a place in the last 16 at the Euro 2024 in a 2-1 win over Slovakia and an interesting comeback.

The fans’ celebrations all over the world started after the win became a reality when Jude Bellingham’s superb overhead kick and Harry Kane’s extra-time goal gave England a convincing win.

Sources have revealed that Fans of England anticipated a win for their favourite team, considering their zeal to end a 58-year wait for major tournament glory. But Ivan Schranz’s 25th-minute goal almost denied England the opportunity.

Talented player, Bellingham displayed class five minutes into six added on in stoppage time breathing new life into Gareth Southgate’s reign as England boss, after his team was torn to pieces early on by a Slovakia side ranked 45th in the world.

Considering the importance of the match and the need to win, so much effort was made by Kane who headed in just a minute into extra-time to set up a quarter-final meeting with Switzerland on Saturday.

In reaction to his fantastic performance, Kane said, “That’s the desire and the attitude from the boys. It looked tough for a second there but you keep going… Jude does what Jude does and what an unbelievable goal.”

Interestingly, Kobbie Mainoo was introduced for his first competitive start in Southgate’s only change and he paid the price with another lacklustre display lacking in any speed or invention for long spells.

Conceding just once in three games, the one saving grace of England’s performances in the group stage was that a makeshift defence had held up well.
