Nigerian actress, Liz Benson has featured in a new film, “A Mother’s Son,” produced by movie star, actress Mercy Johnson and directed by Vincent De Anointed.
For the veteran, who has not been seen in movies for a very long time, this will be a surprised comeback for movie enthusiasts, especially her fans who have known her when she started her career in acting.
Having her onboard again, the cast were thrilled as they welcomed the seasoned thespian. Mercy Johnson said this in a behind-the-scenes video which she posted on her Instagram page.
Movie stars, Mike Godson, Mercy Johnson, Evia Simon, Ozioma Maurice, George Inaibeh, and others are featured in the movie.
Going memory lane, 58-year-old Benson who hails from Etinan, Akwa Ibom in southern Nigeria started her career as a child actress in 1971 at age five but gained fame after being featured as Agnes Johnson, on a television soap opera titled ‘Fortunes’ on NTA in 1993.
Her stardom started in the 1990s as she appeared in some classic movies and became a household name in those early days of Nollywood.
Some of the acclaimed movies she featured in include the “Glamour Girls”, “True Confession”, “Diamond Rings”, “Scores to Settle”, “Evil Men1 and 2″, “Conspiracy”, “Dead End”, among others.
Before her return to Nollywood, Benson had disclosed that she is a born-again Christian and now preaches the gospel on a full-time basis as an ordained minister.
