Super Eagles right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel, has been summoned by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) along with four other Fenerbahçe players, over their involvement in the altercation that occurred after the club’s 3-2 away victory against Trabzonspor on March 17th.
Others that have been summoned by the TFF are Fenerbahçe defender Jayden Oosterwolde and goalkeeper İrfan Can Eğribayat have also been along with Kürşat Çiftlik and Okan Özkan, officials of the club, including Trabzonspor manager, Egemen Kormaz.
So far, thirteen Trabzonspor supporters have been arrested with five placed in pre-trial detention after Osayi-Samuel breached Article 45 of the Turkish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Instruction.
This development started with a Chaos, which ensued at Papara Park following Fenerbahce’s triumph over Trabzonspor, with Osayi-Samuel finding himself in a solitary altercation as he confronted a Trabzonspor supporter amidst a group of pitch invaders.
In the first half, Fenerbahce secured a 2-0 with goals from Fred. In the second half the hosts saw them equalise with strikes from Enis Bardhi and Egyptian forward Mahmoud Trezeguet.
In the closing moments, Belgian international Michy Batshuayi scored, securing a crucial away victory for Fenerbahce. The drama took another dimension after Batshuayi’s goal, as supporters of Trabzonspor stormed the pitch.
The former Queens Park Rangers (QPR) player displayed a spinning back kick as a fan invaded the pitch and approached him and his teammates.
