Tottenham on Saturday beat Luton Town 1-0 despite playing ten men down after Yves Bissouma’s dismissal for diving.
Tottemham’s Bissouma was sent off just before half-time for his needless second booking at Kenilworth Road.
The win for the Lilywhites has taken them to the top of the Premier League ahead of Manchester City as Mickey van de Ven scored his first goal for the club, taking Tottenham to its sixth win in eight league games.
Currently, Ange Postecoglou’s side have two points clear of second placed Manchester City, who will be facing defending champions Arsenal on Sunday.
With this win, the north Londoners have awoken dreams of an unexpected title challenge as Postecoglou has created more competition his first season winning most of his matches.
While that may yet prove beyond Tottenham, the Australian has undoubtedly had a huge impact on a club that was in turmoil when he arrived from Celtic.
Interestingly, Kane’s exit from Tottenham to Bayern Munich, was a litmus test for Postecoglou who has brought more encouraging results to the team.
In the game, Luton had the best chance through Carlton Morris who wasted his team’s chance to equalise but Tottenham took the lead in the 52nd minute.
