Chelsea on Sunday settled for a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend of the Premier League.
Liverpool’s Luis Diaz scored the opener in an interesting first half but the Blues fought hard with a come back as debutant, Axel Disasi scored the equaliser for Chelsea.
Interestingly, the goals margin would have increased for Liverpool but Mohamed Salah and Ben Chilwell had first-half goals ruled out by VAR for marginal offsides.
Other highlights of the match recorded was Liverpool’s appeals for a penalty which was turned down by the referee after the ball struck the arm of Jackson in the box early in the second half and Salah also struck the bar with a right-footed effort from around the edge of the box.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men had another opportunity through Nicolas Jackson. His efforts would have been a plus for Chelsea, probably putting the Blues in front just before the break he but skied James’ low cross over the bar.
In the second half Alisson was very instrumental as he came to the rescue for Liverpool producing two big stops to deny Chilwell and Jackson the opportunity to score.
