President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived Cotonou, Republic of Beninon Tuesday morning for the country’s 63rd independence anniversary independence anniversary.
President Tinubu was received by President Patrice Talon and some top government officials.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos); Seyi Makinde (Oyo); AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq (Kwara); Nasir Idris (Kebbi), and Mohammed Umar Bago (Niger) were some of the six governors and political aides on the entourage of the President.
Talon will be meeting Tinubu for the third time since the Nigerian President assumed office.
They had first met each other on the sidelines of the summit on New Global Financing Pact in Paris, France.
Both leaders later met at the 63rd Ordinary session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS held in Guinea-Bissau and recently in Abuja over the political development in Niger Republic, where the Benin Republic President invited him for the anniversary.
While highlighting joint border patrols by the Customs and harmonising regulations on the frontlines, President Tinubu drew the attention of the Beninese leader to the need to review and strengthen cultural, trade and economic relations between their two countries.
