The managing owner of Inter Miami CF, Jorge Mas has told reporters on Monday that renowned football superstar Lionel, Messi is reportedly expected to make his Inter Miami debut on July 21.
Mas revealed that the seven-time world player of the year, Messi have agreed to a deal but are still finalizing the agreement, Miami Herald reports.
The American professional soccer club is on the verge of playing against Mexico’s Cruz Azul in a Leagues Cup opening match that day at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
So far on the contract, CNN has reached out to Inter Miami and Messi’s representatives for comment.
Miami Herald also disclosed that Mas stated that the club still finalizing the agreement with seven-time world player of the year.
Known to be one of soccer’s greatest players ever, Messi led Argentina to World Cup glory in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, revealed that he was going to play for the Major League Soccer club.
In his words, “I made the decision that I am going to Miami,” he told Spanish outlets SPORT and Mundo Deportivo earlier this month. “I still haven’t closed it one hundred percent. I’m missing some things but we decided to continue my journey there.”
