Germany international forward Kai Havertz may join Arsenal after the Gunners agreed a deal with Chelsea worth around £65m.
Sources have revealed that both clubs have made an agreement in principle that will allow the player to discuss personal terms and have a medical.
Havertz, 24, who scored nine goals in 47 games for the Blues last season could have his fee rise with add-ons.
Going memory lane, Havertz joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 for a deal worth about £71m and scored the winning goal for Chelsea in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City.
This development comes as Mikel Arteta Havertz is preparing to strengthen his Arsenal team since the Gunners qualify for the Champions League.
West Ham captain, Declan Rice, is also another player Arsenal is chasing also but a second bid for the 24-year-old – worth up to £90m – was rejected on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, there is a plan for Chelsean to also reduce their squad size as the Blues have also agreed a £30m deal with Manchester City for 29-year-old Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
Chelsea has also released 32-year-old France international N’Golo Kante, after he agreed to sign for Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad when his contract expires at the end of June.
