Late music legend, Tupac Shakur has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The renowned rapper was acknowledged more than 25 years after he was gunned down in Las Vegas.
Remembering the music star were friends, family members and fans of the rapper who gathered for the ceremony that took place a week before his birthday.
On behalf of Shakur his sister, Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, accepted the honour, stressing that she felt honoured to be there representing their family.
Speaking during the acceptance speech, she said, “Tupac knew deep down that he was always meant for something great,”
“And as his little sister, I had the privilege to watch that greatness unfold.”
Interestingly, June 7 has been declared as Tupac Shakur Day after she was presented with a Los Angeles City Council resolution.
Shakur who passes on at the age of 25 was shot in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, and died six days later.
The talented rapper while alive exhibited class in music while his life and death have been examined in books, films and documentaries.
“Dear Mama”, one of the most recent projects which streaming on Hulu, was a series which focuses on his life and that of his mother, former Black Panther member Afeni Shakur.
In 2016, she died at the age of 69 after it was discovered she had heart attack.
