The 2023 Met Gala has been held in grand style having entertainers, celebrities and Nigerian music super stars, Damini Ogulu, well known as Burna Boy, and Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems in attendance.
Afrobeats superstars Tems and Burna Boy appeared at one of the biggest fashion and fundraising events in the entertainment scene with attractive outfits on Monday, May 1st, 2022, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Interestingly, the Nigerian Grammy-winning artistes who stole the show on the red carpet are ambassadors of African music at the 2023 Met Gala.
Tems’ outfit may not be surprising to many as the nominee at 95th Academy Awards ceremony (2023 Oscars) also stormed the event on March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles with a stunning outfit.
This year’s exhibition titled “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” features around 150 original pieces from his storied career, alongside their respective original sketches.
The theme pays homage to one of fashion’s greatest designers, Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019.
Tems’ flowing gown which was complemented with a corset-like top and elbow-length gloves was made by Robert Wun.
