Defending champions of the UEFA Champions Real Madrid have been paired with Chelsea while Manchester City were paired with Pep Guardiola’s former side Bayern Munich after Friday’s quarter-finals draw.
Inter Milan will be up against Portuguese league leaders Benfica as Serie A leaders Napoli take on AC Milan in an all-Italian showdown.
In the semi-finals, the winners of Real’s tie against Chelsea will go on to face either City or Bayern, which may create a possibility of an all-English last-four tie.
With a close look at the chances of Italian sides being in the finals, if the Nerazzurri beat Benfica, Inter will play either Milan or Napoli in the last four. This will also change the narrative of an Italian team reaching the final for the first time since Juventus in 2017.
On April 11 and 12, the quarter-final first legs will be played with Real entertaining Chelsea at the Santiago Bernabeu first before travelling to London for the return a week later, and City at home to Bayern first.
The semi-finals will be played in May with the final in Istanbul scheduled for Saturday, June 10.
