President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Lagos State, Nigeria’s economic hub, to be part of the final leg of the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign rally.
Buhari was conveyed to the 25,000-seater Teslim Balogun National Stadium, Surulere; venue of the rally after alighting 2:35 pm from Leonardo AW139 helicopter, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
The aim of Buhari’s visit to Lagos is to support the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
Tinubu has served as a former Governor of Lagos from 1999 to 2007. He went ahead to score the highest number of votes among 23 aspirants in the Party’s primary elections in June 2022 and finally emerged as the APC presidential candidate.
His running mate, Kashim Shettima, a former Governor of Borno State, northeast Nigeria, was unveiled a month later.
Buhari is appearing for the 10th time in the APC rally, since the campaign flagged off in Plateau State on November 15, 2022.
