Some Nigerian music stars have gotten nominations for the 2021 edition of the Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards, in the category of Best African Music Act.
On the list of the nominees for the category are Nigerian singers: Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Davido, Rema, Tems, Tiwa, Savage, Wizkid and Ckay.
Others are: Ghanaian highlife and afrobeats singer-songwriter, King Promise, and British afroswing collective group from East London, NSG.
Announcing their nomination, the founder of Mavin Records, Don Jazzy expressed gratitude to the organisers for recognising his signees
Mavin Records signee, Rema was not only nominated for the Best African Music Act category, but also got nominated for Best International Act alongside Wizkid, Kanye West, Drake and Lil Nas X.
The MOBO Awards is are an annual British music award presentation honouring achievements in “music of black origin”, in the genre of hip hop, grime, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and specifically, the African music.
