At 80, Mummy Adetomi wears the grace of a 60-year-old. Her carriage, poise, and energy reflected the quiet strength of a matriarch who has not only lived her dream but continues to inspire all who encounter her.

A Life of Impact and Inspiration

A montage of her earlier years played across the large screens, offering guests a glimpse into her vibrant past. The images revealed a woman of adventure, discipline, and purpose, traits that have deeply influenced the lives of her children and grandchildren.

It is no small feat that this graceful woman raised children of substance: Brigadier-General Segun, a symbol of discipline and quiet strength; Yemi, a resilient businesswoman; and Dapo, an enterprising entrepreneur. Together, they honoured her with a celebration befitting her legacy.

Each tribute shared was filled with admiration.

“My mum has become very spiritual. Every time I call, she starts with prayers. She meditates more than she talks now,” said Yemi, beaming with pride.

For Segun, discipline defined their relationship.

“She spared no rod. Whether it was me or my friends, if we misbehaved, we got punished. That shaped who I am today,” he said.

A friend who sent in her tribute from the UK recalled their friendship blossoming in Abeokuta during their youth.

“I fondly call her Musili. She has been more than a friend—she’s a sister by destiny,” she wrote.

From Ile-Ife to the Adetomis: A Life Well-Lived

From her roots in the esteemed Awosiyan dynasty of Ile-Ife, to her life as Mrs. Adetomi, Mummy’s journey has been one of deep impact. Her siblings described her as a pillar of strength and an embodiment of the Omoluabi ethos, gracious, honest, and dignified.

“You taught us to seek clarity, to be thoughtful, and to rejoice in one another’s successes. Your laughter, humility, and candour continue to inspire us all,” read the family tribute from the Awosiyans.

“You don’t just preach love—you live it. You uplift, support, and guide with grace. Your 80th birthday is not just a celebration of years, but of influence, resilience, and divine favour.”

An Icon of Love and Legacy

Mummy Adetomi’s 80th is not just a personal milestone, it is a collective celebration of a life marked by service, wisdom, and unwavering faith. She remains an inspiration to her family, friends, and all who know her.

As the tributes continued, laughter and dance filled the hall. And in every smile, handshake, and embrace, it was evident that this woman’s journey has touched generations.
