Profile: Acting IG of Police, Mohammed Abubakar
Mohammed Abubakar was born on the 1st of august, 1960. He hails from Zamfara state and enlisted in the police force as cadet inspector on the first of august, 1979.
He grew in ranks until he became an assistant commissioner which saw him command positions at state CID Sokoto; federal operations, force headquarters, Murtala Mohammed international airport, Lagos.
When he became a commissioner of police, he served in plateau, Abia, Kwara, Kano and Lagos police commands.
In 2006, he became an assistant inspector general of police. And this new office has taken him to zones 2, 5, 6, and 12 as the AIG in charge. A member of the national Institute of policy and Strategic Studies (NIIPS), Mohammed Abubakar has also been trained in many world class security institutions in United Kingdom, Israel and United States of America.
