Police detain in niger

A former secretary to niger state government, alhaji adams erena and four other stalwarts of the acn, have been detained by the police for allegedly sponsoring the jan.11, minna fuel subsidy protest. Several properties were destroyed during the protest, including the inec office, which was burnt down.
The police public relation officer in the state, mr richard oguche, gave the names of the other suspects as idris azozo , a former acn gubernatorial aspirant, dattijo aliyu, a house of representative candidate, abubakar magaji and mike barde.
The suspects were invited to the state police command headquarters on tuesday and were subsequently detained after interrogation.
Oguche said that the suspects had made statements to the police and that investigation was continuing.
