NBA on Soldiers
The Lagos branch of Nigerian Bar Association is filing a suit against the federal government for the deployment of soldiers in Lagos State.
Led by its chairman, Taiwo Taiwo, the NBA said there was no reason for the deployment of troops since the protesters conducted themselves peacefully during the rallies.
According to the association, the deployment of troops was an attempt to suppress agitation for good governance. He expressed the fear that the presence of soldiers negate the tenet of democratic governance.
