Maroko Evictees

At Least One Hundred Thousand Maroko Evictees Have Died Between 1990 And 2002 After The Demolition Of Maroko In 1990. According To The Maroko Evictees Committee, Lack Of Commitment To The Appeal For Resettlement Of The Community On The Parts Of Both Lagos State And Federal Governments Has Led To The Dehumanization Of Many In The Community. The Leaders Urged The Government To Respect The Pronouncement Of The 1999 Oputa Commission That Stated In Parts, That The Community Should Be Resettled Fully And Other Compensation Paid In Addition To Apologising To The Evictees.
