Lagos State Government has Appealed to the Federal Government on Soldiers
The Lagos State government has appealed to the Federal Government not to heat up the polity with the continuous presence of soldiers in the state.
The State Commissioner for information, Remi Ibirogba told newsmen in Alausa that the defence headquarters should not cause problem in the state.
Mr. Ibirogba wondered how a state government that does not have the authority over the military could deploy soldiers in the streets. The commissioner said the troops on ground in Lagos have nothing to do with the troops attached to the Joint Security Patrol, OP Messa, adding that the state government has never called for reinforcement of the
outfit.
Meanwhile, governor Fashola has formally written to president Jonathan requesting the withdrawal of the soldiers.
