JTF mandated to check illegal activities in oil sectors

The Joint Military Taskforce in the Niger delta, operation restore hope says it has been mandated to check illegal activities in the onshore and offshore oil sector in Rivers and Bayelsa states.

The commandant of the second brigade nigeria army brigadier general tukur burutal at a press conference in Portharcourt said a new body code named operation polo shield has been created from the JTF to tackle operators of illegal refineries, illegal bunkering, pipeline vandals and other illegal acts in the oil sector in Rivers and Bayelsa states.
