Ikuforiji's trial

The absence of Justice James Tsoho of a federal high court sitting in Lagos today stalled the arraignment of the speaker of the Lagos state house of assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji.
At the resumed hearing of the case on today, the registrar of the court, Mrs Rose Adeseyi, told those involved in the matter that the court would not sit owimg to the absence of the judge who was outside lagos on an official duty. 

Justice Tsoho had on december the15th , 2011 fixed january the 17th , for the arraignment of Ikuforiji and his assistant, Oyebode Atoyebi, on the 20-count criminal charge filed against them by the EFCC. The EFCC had in the charge alleged that the speaker and his assistant, between April 2010 and July 2011 in Lagos, accepted cash payment in the sum of 518 million naira from the Lagos state house of assembly, without going through a financial institution.
