Henry Okah's Trial Postponed
A South African court today postponed the trial of Henry Okah, the suspected mastermind of the 2010 independence day bombing in Abuja to October 1st.
Though the postponement was at the instance of both the prosecuting and defence lawyers, no reason was given for rescheduling the trial that was due to commence today.
Mr. Okah was arrested in South Africa owing to deadly bombings in Abuja on October 1st, 2010 Independence Celebrations and is standing trial for masterminding the attack from South Africa. He however denied the allegations.
The movement for the emancipation of the Niger Delta had claimed responsibility for the attack accusing the government of failing to use the oil wealth from the Niger Delta region to alleviate poverty.
