Defence headquarters speaks on the deployment of soldiers to lagos

Meanwhile, the defence headquarters says the deployment of soldiers to lagos was done at the instance of the state government.
Director of defence information, col mohammed yerima, who revealed this at a media briefing, said the soldiers are part of a special task force code-named operation mesa which has been in the state long before the fuel subsidy protest.
The defence headquarters says the brief of the task force, set up and sponsored by the lagos state government, is to support civil police in protecting lives and property in the state.
