The last has not been heard about the clash between the security details of Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike and his political rival, the Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi as the Inspector General of police, Ibrahim Idris has ordered a thorough probe of the incident.

The Rivers Police Command spokesman DSP Nnamdi Omoni,  confirmed that a probe had been launched into the incident.

Both parties have been trading words over the incident

Meanwhile the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Governor Wike’s Chief Security Officer (CSO), Superintendent of Police Promise Wosu,and other security personnel who were involved in the bloody clash.

The party described the incident as an assasination attempt

Responding to the call, the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications Emma Okah described as wishful thinking, the call for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Governor Wike’s Chief Security Officer (CSO). SP Promise Wosu, and other security personnel.

He said: The call for the arrest and prosecution of Wike’s CSO lacks merit, it is mere wishful thinking and it should be disregarded.
He  stated that there should be no double standard in order to ensure justice.
