The Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently unite Nigeria.
He says the country is currently too divided and left to drift for too long.
Governor Dickson who said this during an interview with newsmen in Yenagoa posited that proponents of restructuring are the true patriots of the country.
Governor Dickson further said leaving the National Assembly alone to amend the constitution will not sufficiently address the concerns of nigerians.
In another development, the former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, has joined the race for the national chairmanship of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Senator Ladoja who left the party to join accord party in 2009, returned to the PDP a few weeks ago.
The constitution of the party stipulates that a member of the party will need to remain a member for two consecutive years before he or she could contest in any elective election.
Ladoja will, therefore, need a waiver from the party’s National Executive Committee before he could be cleared for the contest.
The former governor was among other chairmanship aspirants who met with the members of the National Caretaker Committee of the party yesterday.
