The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, in Bayelsa Stae, Daniel Iworiso-Markson says five more persons  earlier infected with  the 'monkeypox' disease have been discharged from the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital ,Okolobiri where they had been quarantined.
His statement added that two of the index cases and the doctor affected by the disease were discharged from the hospital few days ago and others currently under strict supervision have been responding positively to treatment.
However, rumours that the military was forcefully administering   vaccines on children in schools caused a major scare in Abia State yesterday. 
By noon most parents had withdrawn their kids from schools though some other schools remained open.
But the Abia state government has dismissed the rumour stating that no such immunisation exercise is taking place anywhere in the state.
The Nigerian Army and the Police also dismissed as false social media reports of monkey pox vaccination of students in Anambra State.

The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, has confirmed that 33 suspected cases of monkeypox had so far been recorded in seven states of the federation.

Professor Adewole made this known to state house correspondents after the meeting of the federal executive council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, yesterday
The Federal Executive Council meeting also discused other national issues.
