Unbooked ante-natal cases have been identified as a major challenge in baby delivery process in Lagos State and one that must be tackled to support governments effort, at reducing maternal and child deaths in the state.
 
This is according to the wife of the Lagos State Governor, and chairperson of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, Bolanle Ambode.
 
She made this assertion during the commissioning of an Intensive Care unit at the Island Maternity Hospital.
 

In another development, the Sound Alliance Foundation; a non profitable, socio-philantrophic youth oriented organization has called on government to increase health intervention at rural areas in the country.
 
The foundation comprising students and graduates of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos made the appeal during their latest medical outreach to Okobaba Community, a suburb in Lagos.
 
President of the organization Dr. Samuel Okerinde explained why the community was chosen and some of the interventions carried out.
 
While a resident who spoke on behalf of the community expressed gratitude and urged government to complement the effort.
