The EFCC on Wednesday arraigned the Chairman of PDP in Adamawa State, and the Former Protocol Officer to Ex-Governor Bala Ngilari, Abdurahman Bobboi, for alleged diversion of N586m.

The fund diverted was specifically meant for the feeding of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

The anti-graft agency also arrested two key officials of the Ekiti State Government for alleged misuse of bailout funds. 

Others are Sanda Lamurde, a former Commissioner for Finance and Feredan George, a former Chief Store Officer of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). 

They were all arraigned by EFCC in the Federal High Court sitting in Yola, Adamawa State, before Justice Bilikisu Aliyu, for alleged forgery, theft and fraud. 

The accused are facing 26 charges that led to the diversion of over N586m released by the Adamawa State Government for the welfare of displaced persons in 2015.

According to EFCC Counsel, Abubakar Aliyu the accused persons took advantage of their membership of the State Committee on the Welfare of the IDPs, to perpetrate the crime.

The case was adjourned by the Judge, to November 10, 2017 and the accused persons have been remanded in prison while their bail application process is yet to be determined.
