The Federal Executive Council Meeting Chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari Yesterday directed the Ministry of Finance to immediately recover money not remitted to government coffers by some agencies.
The Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun told state house correspondents that some of the government agencies like NIMASA and JAMB have been diverting their revenues.
According to her, an investigation will be carried out on Joint Admission Matriculation Board and Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency in the areas of poor remittance and diversion of funds.
She said the highest amount that JAMB had ever remitted into the consolidated revenue fund before this management was N3 million.
She also said JAMB has remitted only N3million, the highest amount as the consolidated revenue this year, they remitted N5billion and have an additional N3 billion to remit.
