The Nigeria Police is planning to deploy twenty one thousand personnel for the November 28, Governorship election in Anambra State.
The inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris disclosed this development at a parley with members of the situation room in Abuja.
He said policemen would be deployed to various pooling units and collation centers across the state.
He said further that operational vehicles would be made available in Anambra State by the Force Headquarters.
The inspector General of Police expressed the essence of the deployment as a plan to eliminate all criminals and criminal activities before the election.
He stated that Some areas like Onitsha South and North, Otuocha, IIhiala, Ozubulu, Ekwusigo, Achala in Awka, Ekwulobia in Orumba, local governments are major areas where security would operate effectively.
He encouraged the people, saying that the deployment would make people in the state to have trust in the police and other security agencies.
He said he will ensure that all necessary manpower and logistics to secure the electoral officials, electorate, monitors, observers, and materials are all in intact.
He concluded with assurance that the Nigerian Police Force will ensure a violent free election.
