The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC says the West African Gas Pipeline would be extended from Ghana to Cote d’ ivoire as part of the Federal Government’s West African Energy Integration Policy. 

The Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru, made the disclosure on Wednesday while receiving a delegation from Cote d’ivoire at the NNPC towers in Abuja. 

Represented by the Chief Operating Officer, gas and power, Engr. Saidu Mohammed, the GDM said the extension to Cote d’Ivoire would facilitate easy transmission of gas within the West African sub-region. 

Meanwhile, the leader of the Common Wealth Parliamentary Association, African region, Lindiwe Maseko says there is need for legislators all over Africa to brianstorm from time to time in order to function cordially with the executive arm of government on the continent. 

She said the Nigerian Government also has a duty to address the low percentage of women’s participation in politics. 

She led a delegation of parliamentarians to the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu on a courtesy call. 

The association is an umbrella body for all parliamentarians of the common wealth nations.
