The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has sacked four policemen attached to Ijebu-Ode Area Command in Ogun State.

The men were found guilty of extorting N50, 000 from a man they arrested on trumped up charge.

According to a statement by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Sogunle, who heads the Police Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit, the men were dismissed after they were found guilty in an orderly room trial at the area command headquarters, Ijebu-Ode.

In another development, the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations has accused the  political class of manipulating young Nigerians for their self-serving interests.

Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, the coalition says they want the Federal Government to engage the youths nationwide in an attempt to douse
the rising threats of violence and avoid an outbreak of war.
