In 2009, the talented Jon Oga won the first edition of Naija Sings. Eight years and two degrees later, he is re-releasing his 2014 song, "Uncle Suru" – with the help of Adekunle Gold and Simi.

With his strong voice and his stint in the #BBNaija house coupled with the artistes he picked,Adekunle Gold and Simi,  Jon has given the song new life.
Speaking with Bella Naija about what inspired the song, Jon said:

"In 2014, I received a call from my brother informing me that my friend Suru (who inspired me to sing) had died in a Boko Haram bomb blast.

I was heartbroken and just began humming 'Uncle Suru', later that day I wrote the song with my brother.

It’s a letter to Suru, telling him I'm chasing my dreams, not giving up even though it is not easy."
