Kim Kardashian West recently unveiled her very own eponymous beauty empire, and launched a line of cosmetics, KKW Beauty, this month. The 36-year-old social media sensation took to Instagram to break the news before the launch of her contour and highlight kit, Kim invited beauty bloggers/vloggers over for a party and gave them the products early
Jackie Aina, a Youtuber with a million and a half subscribers, reviewed the product and said she liked some aspects but not others.
'The #KKWbeauty launch was everything I would want in a beauty launch,' she says. 'Seriously so well put together! Kim invited us into her home and was super sweet and professional.'
Later that day, she posted a review of the Crème Contour and Highlight Kit on her YouTube channel. But after seeing Jackie's review of the new project, Kim got her 'revenge' in the most social media-focused way she could — she denied her a tag in her Instagram album.
When Kim posted photos from the event, Jackie was the only person not tagged and Aina’s fans immediately noticed Kardashian’s Instagram “shade” and commented on the picture.
One user wrote, “I’m not buying your product SIMPLY because you didn’t even have the common curtesy to tag @jackieaina. She gave an HONEST review smh.” Another added, “Wow!!! That is reaaaall salty of you. Can’t handle an honest review?”
Aina took to Instagram Live to address the drama.
“I just gave some really constructive feedback about the product itself,” she explained, “I didn’t glorify the product in my review, but I also didn’t bash it. Kim puts up a picture on Instagram of everyone who came to the launch, literally everybody who came to the launch, well almost everyone, and tagged everyone but me. Now by the time I even found out about this, people were already going in on her…”
She added, “Is it shadier to not put up a picture at all, or to put the picture up and to not tag the one person?”
Kim Kardashian West took to twitter to address the "misunderstanding":
