You can now play Sony the Hedgehog and other SEGA classic games for free on your iPhone or Android device! That's right, the Japanese video-game developer is debuting Sega Forever, a collection of iconic video-games released for free — with a $1.99 fee to turn off ads.

Launched today, the collection already offers five games including Sonic the Hedgehog — which was already previously available on mobile —, Comix Zone, Altered Beast, Kid Chameleon, and Phantasy Star II. From there, we should be getting a new game every two weeks.

As you'd expect, the video-games have been adapted to today's technology, now allowing you to keep scores on online leader boards, but also to play using Bluetooth controllers.

SEGA explained that as the collection expends, "it will include both official emulations and ported games that pan all Sega console eras, each adapted specifically for mobile devices while remaining faithful to the original games.”

The company first made the announcement with a whacky-nostalgic-1990s-feel trailer that will make you reach for your mobile phone , download all these iconic games, and finally feel like a kid again.
