The Federal High Court, Abuja, has adjourned the ongoing trial of former Governor of Adamawa State Umaru Fintiri until September 19.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed, fixed the date following agreement of counsels that a later date be fixed.

He noted that the defence has a large volume of documents to make available to the prosecution.

At the resumed trial, Ibrahim Welye, a prosecution witness, insisted on the contents of a petition he wrote against the former governor.

Meanwhile, a judge of the Federal High Court yesterday refused to acknowledge the receipt of a motion filed by Femi Fani Kayode requesting for the transfer of his case to Abuja.

Justice Rilwan Aikawa however granted an application by former Minister of State for Finance, Nenadi Usman for the release of her international passport in order for her to travel  abroad for medical treatment.
