One of President Muhammadu Buhari's ambassadorial nominees, an 80-year-old  retired Justice Sylvanus Nsofor (Imo) has been confirmed by the senate.

His nomination was rejected by the lawmakers before now but President Muhammadu Buhari re-nominated him as ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Also confirmed at the plenary on Wednesday, based on the recommendation of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, were Joseph Iji (Ondo) and Yusuf Hinna (Gombe).
