Former Governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu used a fictitious name to siphon money from the state treasury.

This was revealed during the continuation of the trial of the former governor.

A  witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Romanus Madu, informed a Federal High Court in Lagos, how his name and others names were used to launder money from government house in Abia State.

However, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has said that the best way to stem corruption in African is ensuring that corrupt persons do not profit from their illegally acquired funds.

He wants African leaders to insist on the return of illicit funds hidden in foreign countries.
