Last week, Femi Kuti surpassed Kenny G's 1997 record for the 'Longest Single Note On A Saxophone' but didn't actually break the Guinness World Record – held by Vann Burchfield, who in 2000 broke Kenny G's record when he held a single note on a saxophone for 47 minutes, 6 seconds.

But this past Sunday (May 14), Femi Kuti took to the New Afrika Shrine yet again, and impressively surpassed Van Burchfield's record by over 3 minutes!

However, Guinness World Records revealed to a Twitter follower that they will unfortunately not be recognizing Femi's feat, because the award body has stopped recording achievements in the circular breathing category and therefore will not be honouring any new records.
