The Federal Government has commenced a meeting with organised labour union leaders, to address the billions of naira owed Nigerian workers.

The meeting comes a week after the May Day celebrations, where workers expressed their displeasure by disrupting proceedings at an event in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The closed door meeting was chaired on Monday by the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and attended by Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara.

Also in attendance were the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Chris Ngige, Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, and members of organised labour unions.
