The Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu says the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission plans to raid his home in Enugu State and plant incriminating items.
He claimed that the plot was being sponsored by a group in the presidency to ensure his arrest, detention and indictment, and also frustrate his political ambitions.
However the EFCC through its spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren has denied the allegations.
Meanwhile, the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has appealed to Nigerian journalists to focus on improved content rather than sensational stories
Senator Saraki made the appeal when he met the senate press corps to mark the the World Press Freedom Day.
