Rilwan Akiolu, Oba Of Lagos casually shunned Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni Of Ife, at the world conference of Banking Institutes hosted by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
The video of the incident has since gone viral. The Ife monarch attempted to greet the Lagos traditional monarch, whose body language was not-so-favourable but this was not taken lightly by Nigerian Twitter (Oba Of Lagos and Ooni Of Ife have been trending) considering the Ooni’s rank in Yoruba kingdom.
The stool of Ooni of Ife is regarded as the spiritual head of Yoruba traditional leadership while that of Alafin of Oyo, is the political leadership.
The Ooni, after being shunned, turned around and proceeded to take his seat.

Sometimes extreme kindness and humility could be perceived as weakness, Ooni of Ife can do better, Oba of Lagos  should be tamed.

E.S Osagie.‏ @BadmanSophss
Ooni is the spiritual head of the Yorubas
While Alaafin is the political head.
Idk where the Oba of Lagos falls in.

Oba of Lagos is not even the most powerful Oba in Lagos. Akran of Badagry shits on him.
