Hundreds of residents of Borokiri in Port Harcourt have staged a peaceful protest to the Aggrey Road Business Unit of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company,  over poor power supply and constant  high electricity bill. 

The protesters locked up the entrance of the business unit of company and prevented the workers from entering their offices. 

Correspondent Emeka Idika reports that the protest disrupted free flow of traffic along the aggrey road during the morning hours. 

Also in Jos, the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency has declared that the smart electricity meters currently been deployed by the Jos Electricity Distribution Company to consumers are untested, unapproved and without the seal of the regulatory agency.
The agency has also described the the installation of the new meters on wooden poles as unacceptable
