The Senate yesterday passed amendments to the Electoral Act 2010, approving the use of electronic voting in future elections.
The passage of the bill followed the consideration of the report of the senate committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission.
However, the senate is not comfortable with the speed limiting device initiative being introduced by the Federal Road Safety Corps.
It says implementing it now would further traumatize Nigerians who are already going through economic hardship.
The senate therefore mandated the Tijani Kaura led committee on Federal Character to as a matter of urgency, carry out a holistic investigation of plans by the FRSC to introduce the speed limit policy and sell the same device to road users.
