The Senate wants the Federal Ministry of Health and its counterpart ministries at the state level to work together with the World Health Organisation to prevent further outbreak of Meningitis in the country.
Senator Gbega Ashafa explained that Meningitis type C is a new strain and the Vaccine is not commercially viable.
Contributing to the debate, lawmakers pointed out that government needs to be proactive in its approach to stop its spread.

Also the house of Representatives has mandated its Committee on Tertiary Education to investigate the Federal Government’s directive to scale down non-agricultural programmes from the curriculum of Federal Universities of Agriculture.
The lawmakers also urged the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN  to ensure that commercial and merchant banks provide credit for Small and Medium Scale  Enterprises.
