The Kogi Government has  confirmed a case of Lassa Fever in Angwan Kura Community, in the old market area of Lokoja, the state capital. 
According to  the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Saka Audu,   a patient who is a resident of Angwan Kura, Lokoja, reported at the Federal Medical Centre with signs and symptoms of Haemorrhagic Fever.
The World Health Organisation says it was notified of 273 cases of Lassa Fever, including 149 deaths in Nigeria between August 2015 and May 2017.
