Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court in Lagos has withdrawn himself from further presiding over the alleged N4.9 billion fraud charged against a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
 
The judge ordered the return of the case file to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, for re-assignment to another judge.
 
He directed Fani-Kayode and his co-defendants to await further directive from Justice Auta.

In another development, the Delta State Government has declared  that the result of the laboratory test carried out on the alleged toxic waste discovered in Koko, Warri North Local Government Area of the state recently had only showed “minimal level of toxicity.”
 
The Commissioner for Environment, John Nani,  noted that no environmental remediation was required as the alleged toxic substance was not capable of contaminating groundwater.
 
Mister Nani, said samples of the substance were randomly collected for further laboratory analysis in Benin-City and the result was negative.
